Paul Yih is the creator and director of Casela. Paul was born in Shanghai, China, (1948) raised in Macao/HK as a youngster with his Cantonese speaking mother and family.
By his association with the Roman Catholic order school – The Salesian of John Bosco from Turin, Italy. He had further acquired his learning Latin and Greek in the Roman Catholic mass service.
He was already born as a bi-lingual, bi-dialectic in Macau, with the introduction of the added languages like English, the exposure of the sounds of languages had already marked Paul as a cross-cultural bred person and onto his many “Cross-cultural” paths. At age 13, the family had moved to Brazil. Where the continuation of the Latin and Greek orientation with the same school system of the Salesians.
Where Portuguese had added onto Paul’s own language portfolio. Then college at the American universities, where Paul had further amplified his exposure of languages by his own interest to have acquired Spanish and later, Italian. Early on, per Paul, in his short five years in Shanghai, as a toddler, the exposure of the many languages – first, French were used in the Yih household, on account of his father, a graduate from Sorbonne, Paris and during the war time with Japan, where the Yih family were given assistance of then the central government and their needed of war materials into China.
The Yihs household had their daily exposure of the many more foreign visitors and in that household, more than five regional dialect in Chinese were used. This composed the “hearing” and earning at his younger age. The Academia/Educational background of the YIHS Prior to the Yihs entry into the business world – where both Kathy and Paul Yih had shared their educational interest with both areas of communication and counseling psychology. Kathy holds her Master’s degree from Marquette University and Paul has his Master degree in Educational psychology with the emphasis on Counseling and Guidance.
In that time and period of the graduate school to his first profession, as a psychological counselor – Paul is adamant about his specialized area – Educational psychologist and not “Therapist”.
In that period, Paul had already created a very broad-based counseling system called CD/CS – Communication Dynamic™ and Cultural Sphere™. The emphasis of the forever dynamic in our thinking process and the way we communicate – are of immense importance. He had “guided” and “counseled” many students and clients – not patients in his day whereas one of the earliest pioneers in the field of the entry of the Multicultural Education centers, the fostering of a more diverse world in then the academia – Early on, in 1975, Paul and Kathy Yih had added the other learning and educational awareness – the many different cultural settings – and the birth of CS™ Cultural Sphere had emerged.
It is the combination of the CD™ – Communication Dynamics working in conjunction with the many different CS™ – Cultural Spheres that had led the YIHS had created their own system of communication/counseling in the multi-cultural settings they have named it CS™ – Cultural Spheres.
The teaching of CD/CS™ are the instruments of education that had granted the YIHS as the forerunners, or pioneers in Cross- cultural psychology. Thus, the creation also of their own CCI- Cross-Cultural Institute.
The Yihs rich academic and research portfolio had given them the sort of perspective and their world view of things. The Business Aspect of the YIHs With 40 plus years of experience of international business and consulting he understands the complex and cooperative efforts behind the product, services, logistics, and exchange of ideas and the many great skill attributes, plus the richest experiences of gains and losses.
Born in China, raised in Brazil, and now residing in the United States his understanding of not only cultures but languages and in and out of all world locations from city jungles to the jungles in South America, which have allowed him to have bridged the gap and foster relationships for a wide variety of businesses and individuals.
His lifelong business goal has been to establish smooth paths between China and countries in Central and South America for mutual benefits. The rich resources of South America with the abundance of natural minerals plus the abundance of supply of foodstuff encouraged the Yihs early on with all supply heading into Asia and China. Thus, the conception of Casela was conceived as a parallel trade path of development to share much of the same initiatives of OBOR/BRI with the emphasis on Latin and South America.
CASELA is not a new venture, it is a life-long creation that came about through genuine connection and goals to bring together communities and people.
Culture, language, and people and location in this rich cross- a cultural area like Latin America which shouldn’t keep us from connecting even for the longest time, China remained very remote to the people of Latin America. I am here to foster these changes”
